Since January 2017, Md. Kamrul Hasan Kajol is serving as Officer-Research & Knowledge Management (GIS Analyst) of Disaster Management Watch (DM.WATCH). He has completed a bachelor degree in Urban and Regional Planning (URP) from the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh. He is currently pursuing a master degree in GIS for Environment and Development (MSGED) at the Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh. He started his professional career from Global Survey Consultants (GSC) in 2015 as a Junior Urban Planner and GIS/RS Analyst (GIS & Remote Sensing Section). He has expertise in GIS Mapping, Geo-Database, Data and Map Visualization, Error Correction and database preparation, Network and Hydrological analysis in GIS, He use GIS in various sector like planning and development. Besides, he is adept in application and uses of Remote Sensing in environmental sector such as Change Detection and water reserve analysis through Remote Sensing. As an Urban Planner he is also expertise in development, urbanization and GIS. He is involved in Disaster related issue and Environment and Climate Change related studies in DM WATCH. He is a part of the broad research team at the DM WATCH.
Mr. Kamrul has extensive field research experience in rural and urban areas of Bangladesh, in different research projects as well as in multi-disciplinary teams, using different research methods and analytical tools. He has participated in many workshops, training and seminars throughout his professional career in 2 years.
Mr. Kamrul worked with several project in national and international research organizations and agencies and donors. These include RAJUK, DDC, UNDP, Save the Children, SNV Netherland Development Organization, Concern Worldwide and other.
