Mohammed Misbah Uddin, obtained Master degree in Development Management and Practice from BRAC University. He also obtained Master degree in Population Sciences from University of Dhaka. Prior to these, he studied Statistics in Masters and Bachelor level in Jahangirnagar University. He worked more than 8 years as a researcher in BRAC University. Currently he supervises health and nutrition section of the Disaster Management Watch (DM.WATCH). His areas of interest are but not limited to health and nutrition including WASH and public health, local government, education, demography.   

Mr. Misbah as the Principal Investigator conducted a research with the financial assistance under Bangladesh Tobacco Control Research Grant Program 2017 of BCCP.  As a researcher at BRAC Development Institute (BDI) and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD) of BRAC University, He performed a wide ranges of activities which included literature review, concept note and proposal writing, report writing. Besides these, other activities included research tools and manual development, quantitative and qualitative data management, field operation, training of data collectors, primary and secondary data collection. He was also part of developing several successful research proposals which received generous funding from different donors and development partners such as UNDP, Helvetas Swiss Intercorporation, CARE Bangladesh etc. Alongside, He also involved with different survey based researches as part time consultancies, e.g., baseline, midterm, and impact assessment on different development organizations including WaterAid Bangladesh, Care Bangladesh, Save the Children in Bangladesh, Manusher Jonno Foundation, ActionAid Bangladesh etc. Issues of those consultancies included education, Local government; child marriage, social safety nets, and climate resilience WASH programming, Masculinity and gender equality, engendering disaster management, child friendly local government, sexual and reproductive health problems of the poor etc.


His multidisciplinary educational background and working experience enlightened him to expand the breadth of knowledge and develop strong analytical ability on development issues. His strongest qualities include working under pressure, bringing multidisciplinary perspective into research and program activities.
